**Experienced CAD Technician / Detailer (Metal Fabrication Industry)**

State of the Arts metal fabrication facility specializing in laser cutting, brake forming, machining, and welding, is looking for a talented **Full-Time, CAD Technician / Detailer** to join our dynamic team in Brampton, Ontario, Canada

**Location**: Brampton, Ontario

Are you a skilled **CAD Technician / Detailer** with a background in **metal fabrication** looking for an exciting opportunity? We are seeking a detail-oriented and experienced individual to join our team, contributing to diverse projects and utilizing cutting-edge software. This full-time role offers a competitive salary and the chance to produce detailed and accurate drawings for a variety of projects, including museum interiors.

**Responsibilities**:

- Create detailed **2D and 3D CAD models and drawings** primarily using **SolidWorks**.
- Develop and prepare initial **design sketches**.
- Produce detailed and accurate drawings for projects
- Read and interpret blueprints and client drawings to determine work and production requirements.
- Collaborate internal project teams (Project Management, Fabrication Shop) to develop and modify designs based on client needs.
- Review and analyze technical specifications and requirements.
- Examine drawings for conformity, completeness, and errors, and conduct **quality control checks** on completed designs.
- Prepare job estimates and collect material/parts information.
- Attend pre-production meetings and draft production drawings based on client needs.

**Requirements and Qualifications**:

- **Proven experience as a CAD Technician or similar role.**:

- **Must have experience in the metal fabrication industry.**:

- **3+ years of experience with SolidWorks**.
- Proficient in using **CAD software (SolidWorks** and AutoCAD) and **CNC programming software**.
- Nesting for Amada laser and program flattening for brake press and must.
- Strong knowledge of **drafting techniques and standards**.
- An understanding of metal manufacturing is must.
- Excellent **attention to detail and accuracy** is a must.
- Strong problem-solving skills.
- Ability to work independently as well as effectively in a team environment, partnering with cross-functional teams.
- Proficient communication, interpersonal, and organizational skills.
- Highly organized, flexible, and capable of working the necessary hours in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment.
