**About This Opportunity**:
Reporting to the Senior Manager, Human Resources, the Human Resources Specialist role is an excellent opportunity to work with a great team in all aspects of human resources.

The Human Resources Specialist will execute activities aligned with internal policies and best practices and will support leaders and teams in our corporate functions located at our King Street office in Toronto.

**Responsibilities**:

- Provide advice, coaching and counsel on human resources programs and policies including performance management, employee relations, talent and succession planning, employee engagement, organizational development, and compensation.
- Understand business strategy and operations to execute HR programs to help achieve annual business plan.
- Support the performance and talent management cycle including participation in talent reviews and succession planning.
- Support country-wide projects related to new policies and HR programs through collaboration with other HR professionals or partnering with cross-functional teams in the business.
- Implement Human Resources programs for all employees salaried, union and non-union.
- Enhance communication with employees through multiple channels to build trust and enhance transparency.
- Work with leaders to create targeted action plans to promote employee engagement
- Responsible for drafting company-wide HR communications including organization announcements and HR policies
- Ensure best practices are followed by staying current with HR industry developments and contribute to continuous improvement by leading and influencing HR strategy.
- Review and update HR policies as legislation and best practices change.
- Use HR data and analysis to inform decision-making.
- Act as a change agent to support critical business initiatives and support leaders in all elements of effective change management.

**Qualifications**:

- Education & Experience_
- University degree, college diploma or equivalent experience with a focus in Human Resources, Business Administration, or related field.
- Minimum 2 years human resources/labour relations is required
- Labour Relations experience is a strong asset in the role and for future growth in the organization
- Proven knowledge of Human Resources practices, employment law and recruitment
- Experience supporting leaders at the Executive level
- Skills_
- Proven ability to work closely with leaders to support the resolution of employee issues
- Customer focused with proven relationship building strengths and consulting skills
- Comfort and ability to thrive in a high change and fasted-paced environment.
- Strong presentation and facilitation skills with experience delivering training programs to client groups and leaders across the organization
- Strong written communication skills
- Outstanding people skills with the ability to build trust with business stakeholders and employees
- Proven collaboration skills with the ability to gain consensus through personal influence.
- Intermediate skills in MS Office Suite, HR data, analytics, and HRIS systems.
