**ABOUT THE POSITION**

Reporting to the Manager, Technical Services, the Junior Geologist is responsible for the organization and digitization of historical and recent data and maps for the Exploration department relating to the Back River Project. Based in our Vancouver Corporate office this role is suited for a student or recent graduate with a strong attention to detail, excellent organizational skills, and with a background in Geology. This is a Monday - Friday temporary role (4-month contract) with possibility of extension.

**PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES**

Reporting to the Manager, Technical Services duties will include (but are not limited to):

- Organization of digital files relating to diamond drill hole analysis;
- Reporting on work completed to Supervisor;
- Digitization of select PDF and paper datasets;
- Matching analytical results with sample information;
- Working both in a team and independently to ensure high data quality;
- Rectifying and digitizing historical maps using GIS software (gGIS, Global Mapper); and
- Working in an office setting in downtown Vancouver (40-hour work week, Monday-Friday).

**DESIRED QUALIFICATIONS**
- 2+ years of Secondary Education from a recognized Geology program required;
- Experience using Microsoft Office with a focus on Excel;
- Excellent research skills and attention to detail;
- Previous field work in an exploration or mining c&
- Previous database experience;
- Knowledge of QA/QC programs; and
- Previous experience using GIS software (gGIS, Global Mapper).

**COMPENSATION AND BENEFITS**

The rate of pay for this position is $27.00 - 30.00 per hour (based on year of study).
