**Job Description**:
**JOB OVERVIEW**
Reporting to the Chief Inspector, the Inspector will ensure that the requirements of Enerkem Alberta Biofuels “Pressure Equipment Integrity Management System” are adhered to and will support the management of the integrity of the plant pressure equipment throughout its full life cycle, to ensure compliance with federal and provincial codes and regulations. The Inspector is a member of the Maintenance and Reliability Group.
**KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES**
- Assist the Chief Inspector to identify, plan, and execute pressure equipment and tank inspection activities
- Assist the Chief Inspector in the management of PSVs including servicing intervals and database management
- Build, manage, and update pressure equipment and tank integrity inspection plans and scopes
- Manage contractors during the coordination of inspection and repair activities
- Assist the Chief Inspector in the closure and follow up of incidents, accidents, NCRs, and process safety incidents
- Perform weld visuals and verify qualified welding procedures and qualified welders meet the work scope
- Monitor work in progress to ensure that the weld procedures are being followed and the welders are welding within their qualifications for that work scope
- Request, coordinate and supervise all non-destructive examinations (NDE), review for accuracy and sign off on any related reports.
- Coordinate, witness and sign off pressure tests including documenting the test and verifying the limits of the test. Ensure pressure test gauge calibration is current
- Witnessing flange bolts ups and any torqueing/tensioning requirements when required
- Follow and maintain the approved ITP, ensuring it is signed off at all hold points upon completion of that required task.
- Provide technical assistance at field level on any welding and quality issues.
- Participate in final inspection / walk downs / vessel closures of completed systems as required
- Perform Ultrasonic testing for the purpose of verifying material thickness
**Qualifications**:
**REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS**
**Education and Experience**:
- API 510 certification is required, and ABSA IPV or IBPV certification would be an asset
- API 570, API 653, and CGSB NDT certifications would be an asset
- Journeyman trade designation, C.E.T in Welding Engineering Technology (WET) or Materials Engineering Technology (MET) an asset.
- + 5 years of experience working as an Inspector / QC in industrial construction, maintenance and/or shutdowns.
- 2+ years’ asset integrity, pressure equipment, and tank inspection experience
**Skills and Knowledge**:
- Working knowledge of API 510, API 570, API 653
- Non-Destructive Testing (NDT) techniques, welding processes and basic metallurgy
- Excellent decision-making skills
- Excellent written/verbal communication skills
- Strong computer skills in MS Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook)
- Ability to foster team participation
- Self -starter
- Strong organizational and time management skills
