**Respite Service Facilitator**

**Ontario Autism Program (OAP) - Urgent Response Services (URS)**

Permanent Part Time
- Schedule 1: _Tuesday and Thursday, 3:00 p.m. - 7:30 p.m. and Saturday, 8:00 a.m. - 4:00 p.m. (16 hours/week)
- Schedule 2:_ Monday, Wednesday, Friday, 3:00 p.m. - 7:30 p.m. and Saturday, 8:00 a.m. - 4:00 p.m. (21.5 hours/week)

Peel Region (Brampton and Mississauga)

**Work Arrangement**: Community/Onsite

**Position Summary**:
**Key Responsibilities**:

- Assist with planning, implementing and evaluating recreation activities and activities of daily living for participants in the Respite Program.
- Employ behavior management strategies as set out by the URS Direct Service team.
- Work towards maximizing client independence in day to day activities.
- Engage in general client care including feeding, dressing and toileting as needed.
- Promote participation in recreation activities and social skill development.

**Qualifications**:

- Experience working with children and youth with Autism;
- Experience working with children and youth with challenging behaviors;
- Knowledge of Applied Behaviour Analysis (ABA) is an asset;
- Experience with assisting individuals in personal care;
- Current C.P.R. and First Aid and CPI certificate is preferred;
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills;
- Ability to work flexible hours including evenings and weekends;
- Enjoy working with children in a team atmosphere;
- Valid driver license and access to a vehicle is required;
- Bilingualism in French and English is an asset.
