**Position Summary**:
**Schedule Requirements**:

- Must be available to work 5 shifts/month
- 3 of these shifts must be a weekend shift (Friday 4:00pm to Monday 6:00am).
- The other 2 shifts can be weekend shifts or weekday shifts.
- Shifts are typically:

- 6:00am - 4:00pm (morning/day)
- 8:00am - 4:00pm (morning/day)
- 8:00am - 6:00pm (morning/day)
- 4:00pm - midnight (evening)
- 6:00pm - 6:00am (overnight)
- Midnight - 8:00am (overnight)

**Key Responsibilities**:

- Assist with planning, implementing and evaluating activities of daily living for participants in the Respite Program;
- Engage in general client care including feeding, dressing and bathing;
- Work towards maximizing client independence in day to day activities;
- Promote participation in leisure activities and social skill development;
- Employ behavior management strategies as appropriate;
- Operate transfer and mobility equipment;
- Full support for diapering and toileting.

**Qualifications**:

- Must have or be working towards Child & Youth Worker (CYW) diploma, Developmental Support Worker (DSW), Social Service Worker (SSW), Autism Behavioural Sciences (ABS) certificate or relevant education and/or experience;
- Experience working with children and/or young adults with physical and developmental disabilities is preferred;
- Experience working with children and/or young adults with medical needs such as seizures, tracheostomies and feeding tubes;
- Experience working with children and/or young adults with challenging behaviors;
- Experience with assisting individuals in personal care;
- Knowledge of Applied Behaviour Analysis (ABA) is an asset;
- Current C.P.R. and First Aid and CPI certificate is preferred;
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills;
- Ability to work flexible hours including evenings, overnight and weekends;
- Enjoy working with children in a team atmosphere;
- Bilingualism in French and English is an asset.
