The Thales Ottawa office has been a major supplier and long-term trusted partner to DND, enabling the Canadian Armed Forces and the Canadian Coast Guard to achieve mission success. **This is a hybrid role in Ottawa, Ontario.** **Position Summary** **Key Areas of Responsibility** - Implement, integrate, and troubleshoot/test Business Process Automation (BPA) flows/processes including web service invocations, embedded scripts, and user interactions; - Automate Business Processes, engaging with relevant stakeholders to ensure the defined processes meet the need; - Champion digital transformation and automation within In-Service Support projects; and - Lead and oversee the work of a small team of BPA specialists. - To provide products and customer solutions in consistency with all stakeholders’ needs and entity policies, as well as continuously enhance engineering competitiveness. **Basic Qualifications** - Bachelor’s degree in software engineering, computer engineering, computer science, or equivalent education with relevant experience - Software Development experience: 8 years, including: - Leading a Software Development or Software Test team: 2 years - Development of Web Services: 5 years, including: - Experience defining software requirements, user stories, and/or GUI UX design based on stakeholder needs **Preferred Qualifications** - Experience with UX design and/or implementing GUIs - Experience automating business processes using Business Process Model and Notation (BPMN) - Excellent “soft skills” relevant to leading a team and engaging with stakeholders - Experience working in a scrum/agile software development environment - Strong oral and written communication skills - Proven problem solving and analytic skills with a desire to learn - Experience with military or aerospace domains **Physical Demands** No significant physical effort expected.
