**SOS Children’s Village Thrift Store Foundation**

**Retail Shift Leader**

**Reporting directly to the SOS Children’s Village Thrift Store Foundation Manager. This position is not suitable for students due to the hours and days required.**

**Objective**:
To assist the manager with the day to day planning and organization of the overall store operation.

**Responsibilities**:
**Customer Service**:

- Create a pleasant and hospitable atmosphere in the store and assure that customers are served in a cheerful and courteous manner
- Assure that customers are served in a clean and attractive environment by maintaining high standards of cleanliness and tidiness in the store
- Develop customer service policies

**Merchandising**:

- Pricing and sorting of donations
- Store displays including window
- Inventory control

**Financial and Cash Procedures**:

- Cash register operation
- Daily float preparation
- Assist with banking procedures and bank deposits

**Qualifications**:

- Ability to relate to customers and volunteers in a warm, enthusiastic manner
- Demonstrate good organizational skills
- Flexible schedule and be willing to work some weekend shifts
- Energetic and in good health (some heavy lifting may be involved)
- Ability to work well independently and as part of a team (takes initiative)
- Effective time management/priority setting abilities
- Anticipate future needs/self-starter
- Brand name awareness and/or knowledge of vintage/antiques preferred
- Passion for fashion and eco-friendly
- Strong interpersonal/customer service skills
- Strong computer skills
- Graphic Design and/or Power Point skills preferred
- Driver’s License and access to a vehicle preferred

**Salary**: $17.00-$19.00 per hour
