Elk Island Public Schools (EIPS) is one of Alberta's largest school divisions, serving approximately 17,000 students in 43 schools. Our schools are largely located just east of the Alberta Capital Region, situated in both urban and rural areas including: Sherwood Park, Fort Saskatchewan, Vegreville (County of Minburn), Strathcona County, and Lamont County.
EIPS employs approximately 930 full-time equivalent teaching staff and 580 full-time equivalent non-teaching staff, and are seeking to recruit and retain highly motivated, creative, and engaged professionals, who will enable us to teach our students how to learn, prepare each student to achieve their best, and assist students in becoming contributing members of society. **Qualifications**:
Bachelor of Education
Must be eligible for an Alberta Teaching Certificate
Effective organization and classroom management skills
Ability to create a classroom environment where students feel safe, supported, and challenged
Excellent verbal and written skills
Experience or familiarity analyzing data and using data to inform decision and/or instruction
Strong collaboration and teamwork skills
Growth mindset and ability to use feedback to improve practice
Relentless drive to set and achieve personal and professional goals
All newly hired Substitute Teachers will be required to provide a satisfactory Criminal Records Check, which includes a vulnerable sector check - dated within six (6) months from offer of employment with EIPS - obtained from local RCMP or Police Department. Any costs incurred are the responsibility of the employee.
