QUALITY ASSURANCE LAB TECHNICIAN PERMANENT FULL-TIME

MAJOR AREAS OF RESPONSIBILITY & WORKING RELATIONSHIPS

Collect and evaluate incoming materials and finished goods against standards
Maintain & document clear, concise and detailed records or product inspections and findings on all associated QA reports.
Notify production supervisor and quality supervisor when out of spec product/material is found
Periodic quality checks on finished cases and all 1st product runs
Record keeping and filing of quality documentation
Perform calibration and maintenance of lab equipment
Supply samples for Lab testing, customer samples, external lab testing and retained storage.
Complete HOLD notices when required, distribute and keep HOLD file updated.
Analyze and record quality results for in process materials
Prepare standards for taste panels
Responsible to report food safety problems and/or quality problems to personnel with authority to initiate actions.
Other duties as assigned

SKILLS, EXPERIENCE & EDUCATION REQUIREMENTS

High School Diploma/GED required
Post-Secondary Education in Quality Assurance or Food Science
Previous food manufacturing experience is required
Fully qualified in all aspects of lab functions
Proper use of lab testing equipment
Special training in HACCP, GMP, SQF, Internal Auditing
GMP Audit experience
Understanding of food allergens
Must be able to handle multiple tasks and prioritize in a fast paced environment
Strong interpersonal, communication, organization and team working skills

**Computer literate**: MS Excel, MS Word, MS PowerPoint, & Microsoft AX
