**Position Summary**:

The position of Resident Care Manager will commit to incorporate our Mission, Vision, and our Values, which are Compassion, Collaboration, Respect, Social Justice, Integrity and Stewardship, and uphold our ethical traditions as foundational aspects in all actions and decision-making.
The Resident Care Manager, reporting to the Site Director, is accountable for the overall management and direction of continuing care services. The Resident Care Manager collaborates with other members of the management and interdisciplinary team in order to plan, implement and evaluate resident care.
In accordance with Covenant Care’s Mission, Vision, and Values, this position is responsible for ensuring that residents receive quality care and service according to Covenant Care policies and procedures. Provides support to residents, their family and visitors during the resident’s end of life journey that will enable choice, dignity, privacy, respect and individuality.

**This position requires the following**:

- Commitment to Covenant Care Mission, Vision, Values
- Ability to coordinate the development of innovative care programs in order to meet the unique and holistic needs of residents
- Strong problem solving, critical thinking, verbal and written communication skills
- Ability to provide leadership and build relationships within teams
- Management experience with recruitment, retention, coaching, mentoring, and performance development in a unionized environment
- Excellent organizational, interpersonal, and conflict resolution skills
- Ability to remain objective in decision-making with a focus on caring for the whole person - body, mind and soul
- Commitment to safe, effective and ethical resident care and work practices
- Ability to respond appropriately within a stressful environment
- Proven reliability and accountability
- Participates in the On-Call Rotation as applicable
- Have an understanding and working knowledge of Service Contracts, Continuing Care Health Service Standards, and Accreditation Standards

**Supervision**:

- Direct supervision of care staff
- Accommodation Audits

**Qualifications**:

- Bachelors degree in Nursing required
- Registered with CARNA (College and Association of Registered Nurses of Alberta)
- Masters Degree in Nursing or related field preferred
- Two to Five (2-5) years of middle or senior management experience in a unionized health care environment, preferably in continuing care services, is required
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills
- Strong leadership skills
- Must be versed in CCHSS and Accommodation Audits
