Construction Machine Operator

Onocon Developments Ltd. is seeking a Full-time Machine Operator to join our team.
As a Machine Operator, you will be responsible for operating various heavy construction machinery to perform tasks related to excavation, earthmoving, snow removal, and material handling. Your role involves precision operation, adherence to safety protocols, and collaboration with other construction professionals to ensure the successful completion of projects.
**Key Responsibilities**:
- **Machine Operation**:
- Operate heavy construction machinery, such as excavators, skid steers, loaders, graders, and other specialized equipment.
- Perform tasks such as digging, grading, leveling, and moving materials according to project requirements.
- **Safety Compliance**:
- Adhere to all safety guidelines, regulations, and protocols while operating construction machinery.
- Conduct pre-operational checks on equipment to ensure proper functioning and identify any potential safety hazards.
- **Site Preparation**:
- Prepare construction sites by clearing debris, excavating, and grading the land to meet project specifications.
- Assist in the setup and layout of construction sites.
- **Material Handling**:
- Load and unload materials using the appropriate machinery, ensuring efficient and safe handling.
- Transport materials within the construction site as needed.
- **Equipment Maintenance**:
- Perform routine maintenance on construction machinery, including checking fluids, lubricating moving parts, and inspecting overall condition.
- Report any mechanical issues or malfunctions promptly to the maintenance team.
- **Communication**:
- Coordinate with other construction personnel to ensure efficient workflow and safety on the site.
- Communicate effectively with supervisors and project managers regarding project progress and any challenges encountered.
**Qualifications & Skills**
- Ontario Secondary School Diploma (OSSD) or equivalent
- Effective time management and multi-tasking skills
- Proficient in operating a range of construction machinery with precision and accuracy
- Knowledge of safety regulations and practices in construction and equipment operation.
- Ability to interpret project specifications and follow instructions
- Familiarity with various types of heavy construction equipment and their functions
- Oblige to the Health & Safety rules and regulations
- Comfortable working with a team and individually
- Reliable, punctual, & hardworking
- Strong verbal skills
- Must be highly productive
- WHMIS (mandatory)
- Standard First Aid (preferred)
**Job Types**: Full-time, Permanent
**Salary**: $25.00-$36.00 per hour
Expected hours: 44 per week
