Direct Support Professional

**Overview**
The Direct Support Professional (DSP) will provide support to individuals in their home, in a residential setting and community to children, youth and adults in a person-centered fashion following the Guiding Principles of Community Living-North Frontenac.
Responsibilities will include but are not limited to assisting with the activities of daily living, cooking, maintaining a clean and safe home environment, recreation, education, community participation, medication administration, developing and implementing Behavior Support Plans, physical interventions as required, creating, and following Person Centered Plans, daily documentation, collaborating with agency teams and outside resources as well as communicating with families.
**Responsibilities**
- Assist people with daily living activities, including personal hygiene, meal preparation, and medication management.
- Provide companionship and emotional support to enhance the well-being of people.
- Implement individualized care plans tailored to each person's needs and preferences.
- Support people in engaging with their community through social activities and outings.
- Maintain a clean and safe living environment by performing light housekeeping duties.
- Document people progress and any changes in behavior or health status accurately.
- Communicate effectively with family members, healthcare providers, and other team members regarding peoples care.
**Skills**
- Experience working with persons with disabilities is highly desirable.
- Excellent communication skills to interact effectively with clients, families, and team members.
- A commitment to maintaining a clean and organized environment for clients' comfort and safety.
- Patience, empathy, and a positive attitude are essential traits for success in this role.
- Developmental Services Worker, Child and Youth Worker, Behavior Science, or equivalent
- First aid/CPR,
- CPI - Non Violent Crisis Intervention training
- G License/ Driver’s Abstract
- Vulnerable Sector Check
**Job Types**: Full-time, Part-time, Permanent
Pay: $25.25-$31.00 per hour
