**Job Overview**

A growing family law firm in Vaughan has an immediate opening for a family law legal support person for a 1-year maternity leave contract with possibility of extension.

This role is primarily for a legal assistant but may involve some limited law clerk duties as appropriate.

**Duties**:

- Drafting routine correspondence and some basic legal documents
- Basic reception and intake duties
- Calendar/schedule management, including adhering to service and filing deadlines
- Maintaining regular and timely contact with clients in a professional manner
- Contacting courts to obtain court dates for various attendances
- Maintaining and organizing client files (physical and electronic)
- Preparing supporting financial disclosure documents
- Preparing continuing records, motion materials, conference briefs, etc.
- Sending out client accounts and following up on accounts receivable
- Other general administrative duties as required

**Education/ Experience**:

- 1 or more years of experience in a family law practice environment is preferred
- Legal Assistant or Law Clerk Diploma or relevant work experience is preferred
- Experience in office administration and billing is an asset

Compensation is commensurate with experience.

**Job Type**: Fixed term contract
Contract length: 12 months

Pay: $40,000.00-$45,000.00 per year
