**ABOUT THE ROLE**
The Live-In Treatment Child and Youth Practitioner is a full-time permanent position that facilitates and delivers assessments, therapeutic treatment, programming, and discharge planning and aftercare for children and youth in a live-in treatment program environment, where supervision, support and care of children and youth is provided 24 hours per day, 365 days per year.
**_ Salary range:_** _$58,001 to $67,543 per annum_

**WHAT YOU WILL DO**
- Provide care and supervision that support the health and wellbeing of each client within the residential environment and in their daily functioning. Each full-time staff may be assigned to a client as a primary care provider and take the lead for care and therapeutic needs
- Provide support and treatment that is evidence-informed and in-line with goals and objectives and support clients mental health and wellbeing within the live-in environment and in their daily functioning.
- Organize, attend and participate in various meetings that support client’s therapeutic programming needs and enhance communication between residence staff and multi-disciplinary teams.
- Participate in the care and maintenance of a residential home and program facilities to ensure the health and safety of program participants and staff, and that meet licensing standards.
- Complete the required documentation and administrative responsibilities to support the needs of the program and the clients and meet the requirements of the Ministry and Licensing bodies.
**THE “MUST HAVES”**
The following education, professional memberships and knowledge are a requirement for this role:
- CYW/ CYC diploma or degree.
- One year of work experience in Live in Treatment setting with clients presenting with mental health concerns.
- Awareness of the role of diversity, equity, and inclusion in the workplace and within the community being served by the position.
- An understanding of anti-black racism, anti-oppressive/anti-racism perspective in the context of the social determinants of health.
- Ability to recognize and identify situations where incidents of imbalance of power and privilege may occur and can result in possible negative impacts.
**THE ‘NICE TO HAVES’**
- Knowledge of Crisis Management/ Intervention Models.
- Knowledgeable of the Child Welfare Systems and Ministry of Children, Community, and Social Services, Child, Youth and Family Services Act (CYFSA), WHMIS, First Aid, and Evidence-based therapeutic modalities.
- Knowledge of Crisis Management/ Intervention Models.
