RESPONSIBILITIES
- Responsible for preparing food for service in a high end restaurant.
- Execute dishes with accuracy, speed, and detail; adhering to the recipes provided by the Chef de Cuisine; with an emphasis on presentation and garnishing.
- Ascertain the quality and freshness of products.
- Monitor stock and log shortages as required. Assist in food inventory and control.
- Keep a clean work station, including equipment and utensils; understand and abide by Health & Safety standards and Food Safe requirements.
- Operating standard kitchen equipment with caution and care.
- Responsible for line station stock levels, restocking any low items during shift.
- Assisting in properly receiving and storing delivered items.
- Performing all opening and closing assignments as instructed.
**REQUIREMENTS**:
- Minimum 1-2 years experience as a line cook.
- Previous experience and/or extensive knowledge of Italian Cuisine is an asset.
- Understanding of professional cooking and knife handling skills.
- Ability to take direction and work calmly and effectively under pressure.
- Excellent communication and organizational skills.
- Positive attitude and willingness to learn.
- Must exhibit a high degree of professionalism.
- Energetic with a passion for food and a positive outlook.
- Able to stand for long periods of time.
- Ability to lift items of up to 40 lbs.
