**Job Requirements**:
MATRIX is seeking **a National Operations Manager** to help oversee our organization’s growing client base and growing business.

This position will be responsible for helping to build and assist in leading high-performance operations teams in Terrace, Yellowknife, and potentially other locations.

This role will be a part of the senior leadership team and will be the primary contact to 10+ direct reports and co-primary contact to 50+ indirect reports. This position will be reporting directly to Matrix’s Chief Operating Officer.

**This is a full-time position located at either our Terrace, BC facility, our Yellowknife, NWT facility, or in Osoyoos BC at our recently opened administration offices.**

**Requirements**:
**Managerial Responsibilities**
- Manages all staff performance and output at the Terrace location (direct report for the logistics coordinators, shop/yard personnel,)
- Oversees regional billing and tracking of expenses.
- Conducts regular expense audits and ensuring all expenses are managed appropriately.
- Conducts all staff scheduling, vacation, and other time off requests.
- Oversees general facility and shop management of the Terrace facilities.
- Maintains a positive work environment.
- Manages workplace safety. Helps to Lead, build and support - a strong workplace health and safety culture.
- Manages Client and Vendor relationships with an eye on customer satisfaction and driving business growth.

**Operational Responsibilities**
- New project planning/execution.
- Budgeting, tracking costs.
- Operational planning.
- Managing scope of work changes.
- Project tracking.
- Project Risk Management and mitigation.
- Proactively identify project risks that could affect project cost, quality, and work scope.
- Develop mitigation strategies for project risks.
- Quality Assurance Management.
- Tracking product and service deliverables per client contracts.
- Create and execute action plans to address issues in remote camps.

**Oversee and support the shipping/receiving and logistics functions with remote camp supply chain management, specifically**:

- Shipping and receiving functions for camp equipment, machinery, fresh groceries, core samples
- Remote camp preparation and deployment
- Crew changes
- Asset management and tracking
- Warehousing
- Procurement
- Emergency Response Plan Activation

**Required Education, Experience, & Certification**
- Must have a high level of computer literacy.
- Minimum of seven to ten years’ **progressive experience** in operations management/leadership level.
- Can maintain a ‘hands-on’ approach who can roll up their sleeves and dig into the trenches as operations require.
- A solid career progression involving operational areas within a similar style organization.
- Proven ability to plan at both strategic and operational levels
- Demonstrated leadership skills, with a proven track record of team building and collaboration, coaching/mentoring, and cultural transformation
- A communicator who values and exhibits transparency in all communications
- Experience improving operational effectiveness, optimizing workflows, and executing on strategic goals
- Demonstrated ability to structure the functions of the business, establish internal controls, policies, and procedures, and design/manage that structure to achieve a highly effective organization.
- Decisive, with demonstrated business acumen, common sense, good intuition, and sound judgement.
- Must be a very strong team player, flexible, collaborative, approachable, responsive, and respectful.
- Must be open to new ideas, embraces change and is comfortable working in a rapidly changing environment where priorities change on the fly.
- Experience and background working with Indigenous, Inuit and Metis people and organizations is considered a definite asset, particularly those located in the Golden Triangle of BC or Northern regions of Canada.
- Well balanced individual with a strong work ethic, high energy, and can display a sense of urgency.
- Must have previous experience working and understanding remote camp settings.
- Project Management training and experience considered an asset.
- Familiar with the trucking and/or aviation industry would be a strong asset.
