Yard Manager

**We are currently seeking an experienced Yard Manager for our Terrace, BC Location**

**Responsibilities**:

- Ensure effective controls are maintained of all materials movement, nationally.
- Maintains an organized yard, lay down and warehouse using a forklift, telehandler and/or front end loader.
- Loading and unloading trucks/trailers with a forklift.
- Comply with all required guidelines and regulations of Health, Safety and Environmental.
- Receiving and verification of all material for various business units.
- Shipping and verification of all material for various locations and projects.
- Package, inspect, and then distribute various materials to appropriate locations.
- Manage inventory and products daily.
- Prepare orders for pick-up by internal and external clients.
- Perform shipping operations as required or directed.
- Inventory control of existing projects on a weekly basis.
- The ability to keep the workspaces and warehouse well organized and tidy.
- load and unload customers/outside trucking companies, with a positive attitude.
- Must be a self-starter with an eye for details and a keen sense of time-management.
- Effective planning skills good communication and people skills are required.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and the ability to multitask and prioritize are essential.
- General Physical labor duties such as warehouse and yard maintenance will be required from time to time.

**Requirements**:
**Required Knowledge & Skills**:

- 3+ years relevant and demonstrable past experience is required.
- Technical aptitude of Jobsite equipment and yard and warehouse operations are required.
- Must be able to safely operate various light and heavy equipment, with proven certification and/or hours.
- Must have very strong organizational skills.
- Ability to work independently.
- Inventory control.
- Must have an excellent attention to Detail.
- Must have an excellent attention to Safety.
- Working knowledge of computers, specifically MS office.
- Excellent work ethic, self-motivated, willing to work extra hours/emergency hours if needed.
- Capable of lifting up to 50lbs from time to time, safely.
- Valid Class-5 driver's license is mandatory, licensure above Class 5 is considered an asset. A driver’s abstract will be required.
- Forklift Certification, and/or proven past experience is required.
- WHMIS certification.
- Transportation of Dangerous Goods certification (By ground and air) is a definite asset.
- Experience in customer service is considered a major asset.
- Post-secondary education in logistics, warehouse, or transportation is an asset.

**Salary Range**

$325-$400/day depending on skills, experience and certifications.
