**Role Responsibilities**:
Do you have exceptional customer relations skills, looking for a challenging opportunity in a fast paced working environment? The Permitting and Evaluation Section of the Driver, Carrier and Vehicle Safety Branch is responsible for delivering Alberta Transportation and Economic Corridor’s Permit Program to the transportation industry.
The main responsibilities for the Permit Analyst are (but not limited to):
Permit Application Analysis:
- Provide advice to clients or their agents if issues are identified
- Ensure date entry is accurate and complete
Provision of Technical Information and Advice
- Effectively deal with clients regarding business related inquiries
- Use detailed knowledge of provincial highway system and trucking industry to select safe and practical routes for commercial vehicles
- Provide technical process support to TRAVIS Web users, agents and municipal permit authorities

**Qualifications**:
**Required**:
- High School Diploma supplemented with a minimum of 3 years of progressively responsible experience in transportation safety
- Experience with the Traffic Safety Act, Commercial Vehicle Dimension and Weight Regulations and Vehicle Equipment Regulation considered a strong asset
**Equivalency**: Directly related education or experience considered on the basis of:
- 1 year of education for 1 year of experience; or
- 1 year of experience for 1 year of education.

- Strong interpersonal and communication skills
- Experience with TRAVIS, TSIS and MOVES Experience working in a call center environmentMinimum recruitment standards outline the minimum education and experience required for appointment to a job classification.
