As a Project Manager, you will deliver project management services across Corporate Security's programs to lifecycle existing security infrastructure and implement new physical and cyber security initiatives to mitigate threats to The City of Calgary, its employees, and visitors. In both physical security and cybersecurity, the Project Manager, you will play a critical role in ensuring security initiatives are successfully planned, implemented, and managed within scope, budget, and timeline. Primary duties include:
- Provide leadership and direction to project teams, define and assign project roles, responsibilities, project scope, objectives and deliverables.
- Develop project plans, schedules and milestones. Identify required resources, dependencies and constraints.
- Lead the development of project plans and schedules which may include but is not limited to tasks, schedules, milestones, risk management plans, resourcing needs, relevant parties¿ engagement, change management and communication plans.
- Monitor activities of the project team, adherence to project plans and schedules.
- Conduct performance tracking and quality assurance checks on project deliverables.
- Oversee project budget and approve capital and operating project expenditures.
- Communicate the status of projects, risks and mitigation strategies, and key decisions made to the project sponsor.
- Act as the project spokesperson for all aspects of the project to project steering committee and key parties.
- Consult with the project sponsor to determine and acquire suitable resources, assess project team members abilities and provide feedback to supervisors on performance.
- Facilitate planning sessions, brainstorming, focus groups, one-on-one meetings with project sponsor, key parties and occasionally a project steering committee.
- Prepare the project budget, defining the allocation of financial resources and obtain sponsor approval.
- Identify areas for process improvement and efficiency and implement best practices.
**Qualifications**
- A degree in Business Administration/Management, Economics, Public Administration, Engineering, or related field and at least 5 years of project management experience, including at least 3 years of experience as a project manager.
- Preference will be given to applicants who have a Project Management Professional (PMP), Organizational Change Management (OCM), Change Management (MSI/PROSCI), and/or Certified Business Analysis Professional (CBAP) certifications.
- Experience in Physical Security, Cyber Security, or knowledge of security principles and best practices will be considered an asset.
- Success in this role requires proven ability to deliver projects on time while effectively managing resources and collaborating with partners.
- Strong communication, time management, conflict resolution, negotiation skills, and the ability to influence people at all levels of an organization.
**Pre-employment Requirements**
- A security clearance will be conducted.
