Burlington, Canada ComForCare Home Health Care - Halton Full time

We are looking for a female caregiver PSW to work with a female client in Burlington every weekday and weekend for 4 hours in the morning and more shift hours will be added in coming months. The client is a smoker who smokes outside of the apartment, however the caregiver must be smoke tolerant. We offer an incentive of $200 paid at the end of the third month of work to the caregiver who is in good standing with the company.

**Job Summary**: The
**Caregiver**
**PSW** provides clients various personal care and homemaker/companion services in accordance with an established plan of care.
**Essential Functions**:

- Personal Care
- Provide assistance with bathing, dressing, grooming, nail /skin care, shampoo, oral hygiene, ambulation, transfers, range of motion exercise, safe use of equipment and assistive devices, with toileting, commode, incontinent care, meal planning, preparation.
- Companion
- Provide companionship
- Perform homemaking activities which include (but are not limited to): vacuuming, dusting, sweeping, or mopping floors, doing dishes, changing bed linens, doing laundry and cleaning bathrooms
- Medication Services
- Assist with medications that the client self-administers

**Qualifications/Educational Requirements**:

- High school graduate or equivalent certificate
- Successful completion of a Provincial-approved Personal Support Worker, Certified Nurse Aide or Health Care Aide course, or equivalent is an asset.
- Meets passing criteria on DEARS test (Drugs and Ethics test)
- Ability to read, write, speak, and understand English as needed for the job
- Possessing a valid driver's license and have use of an insured automobile or access to adequate transportation for the job is an asset
