St. Joseph’s Continuing Care Centre requires Cooks.
**Duties**:
- Prepares and cook/bakes foods for residents/staff and visitors
- Follows recipes and all guidelines outlined in job duties
- Operates various equipment used in food preparation and service and ensures all safety/cleaning instructions are followed.
- Responsible for ensuring foods have met all requirements for food service/storage and handling. (HACCP)
- Puts away stores making sure all items are in good condition and accounted for
- Performs audits/prepares food orders when required
- Ensures all staff are present and on duty in the absence of management.
- Performs any other duties as assigned
**Qualifications**
- Food Safety Certification Course.
- Graduate of a formal accredited cooking course / License issued by Ministry of Training, Colleges and Universities.
- Experience in institutional cooking preferred.
**Other Requirements**
- Ability to lift heavy pans/pots/groceries
- Ability to work in stressful situations and make decisions
- Bilingualism an asset.
- Participates in the Public Health Food Safety Awareness Program and Other recommended skills development programs.
- Must be available to work all shifts.
