Renert School is leading Calgary private school in Royal Oak NW. We run a rigorous Humanities program with a strong emphasis on writing.

We are looking for an English/Humanities marker/tutor to join our team in order to support instruction of writing. You will mark student essays according to our marking criteria and provide written feedback to students. At times, you may be asked to conference with students, to go over their essays with them. You may also teach writing workshops.

You will do your marking work from home. The hours vary with the school year. Expect 5-10 hours per week.

**Qualifications**:
1) Must love chisdren and be committed to their academic well-being

2) Must possess strong mastery of written English (including grammar and diction)

3) Meticulous attention to detail in writing

4) Familiar with academic writing models and willing to learn those used at the school

5) Past experience in marking academic writing is strongly preferred

6) Past experience in working with students is preferred

7) Is eager to learn our writing structures and to contribute to a vibrant learning environment

**Job Type**: Permanent

**Salary**: $18.00-$22.00 per hour

Expected hours: No more than 10 per week

Flexible Language Requirement:

- French not required
