- As a star in the Business Operations team, you will help drive financial and operational efficiency across the entire Synopsys Solutions Group. Your work will have a meaningful impact on the largest Business Unit within Synopsys, with international, multi-disciplinary scope across a diverse range of technologies.
- Through the development of processes and tools, we help executive management examine data, creating recommendations in critical business areas such as project selection and execution, product pricing and resource allocations. This includes capabilities related to project cost examination, project portfolio planning and related financial modelling. As a Project Manager within our Business Operations team, you will work in a wide variety of roles to support management and define, roll-out, and maintenance of these processes, including hands-on deployment of IT infrastructure.**Specific Duties**
- Plan projects involving Business Process Engineering and IT Development. Manage and drive task prioritizations to successfully deliver overall solution deployments.
- Work closely with end users across many functional groups (Engineering, Marketing, Finance, etc.) to interpret business needs. Capture and translate these requirements into appropriate process improvements, tool selection and/or IT system design.
- Install, develop, update, and maintain new system tools related to data gathering and examination. In addition to setup and configuration of commercial solutions, supporting coding/scripts may be needed to automate data flows.
- Continually advance tools and processes through internal system verification; co-ordination of user acceptance testing, updating process definitions, training delivery, data entry, and documentation.
- Proactively track system usage and performance reports to ensure data is entered correctly, completely and consistently.
- Create project and operational metrics/KPIs using spreadsheets, databases, and related scripting tools to drive sound business conclusions.
- Co-ordinate end-user administrative and technical support for issues related to database planning and reporting tools.
- Build productive working relationships with IT teams and solution vendors to maintain and advance our data systems.
**Required Qualifications**
- Proven Project Management and task prioritization/co-ordination skills, with experience managing multi-disciplinary development projects and operational support groups.
- Formal Project Management training and credentials (e.g. PMP, PRINCE2, CSM, etc.).
- Background in Engineering, Computer Science or Business with a solid IT focus.
- Bachelor’s Degree plus 5+ years of related experience in system and data management.
- Practical experience with technical and administrative aspects of deploying IT solutions.
- Ability to perform in-depth data investigation using specialized tools and techniques (e.g. PowerPivot, Power BI, DAX, SQL, VBA, C#, Python, etc.).
- General ability to use enterprise planning and reporting tools (e.g. SAP, Salesforce, etc.), spreadsheets, databases, and related technologies.
- Excellent interpersonal and teamwork skills. Willingness to work with many remote users and stakeholders across a global organization.
**Preferred Skills and Experience**
- Knowledge of Microsoft Project Server or Project Online for project planning/reporting.
- Specific experience in financial modeling, project/portfolio planning and project cost reporting for R&D technology environments.
