We are currently seeking an International Merchandiser - China who can be nice, will seek inspiration from our roots, can commit to achieving results the right way and loves to think big to join us on our journey.

The International Merchandiser - China is a member of our Buying and Merchandising team, reporting directly to the Sr. Director for Buying and Merchandising.

The International Merchandiser - China for Roots will be responsible for and evaluated on the following:

- Collaborate with China PR agency to align brand and commercial focus to PR activities.
- Work with the Sr. Manager, International Business Development - China on appropriate pricing in relationship to Canadian MSRP and product cost.
- Effectively present seasonal hindsight and strategy for China product merchandising.
- Conduct ongoing and regular market trend and competitive landscape research including consumer trend forecasting and digital product testing tools to impact Roots’ assortment and pricing matrix.
- Partner with Merchandise Directors and Buyers across all departments to cover needs for China market at line planning.
- Create SMU strategy for China that drives business and aligns with global 5-year plan.
- Experience in China apparel market required, experience in Canada apparel market is an asset
- Leather and accessories experience an asset
- NA brand experience required; premium/luxury brand experience is an asset
- Must be fluent in both English and Mandarin
- If located outside of Canada, will be required to travel to Canada frequently
- Experience with Tmall and Zalora an asset
- Experience with Acrobat Pro, Adobe Illustrator and InDesign an asset
