Job Summary:
Key Responsibilities:
- Prepare shift reports and document successes and troubles of shift with resolutions or proposed resolutions of identified troubles.
- Verify set up and initialize plastic injection molding machines according to production specifications.
- Perform mold changes, machine adjustments, and process optimizations to maintain efficiency and quality.
- Troubleshoot and resolve issues related to molding processes, equipment, and materials.
- Verify process parameters and documentation of process parameters of plastic injection molding machines according to production specifications.
- Verify setup of mold and documentation of setup of mold according to production specifications.
- Verify materials and packaging and documentation of materials and packaging according to production specifications.
- Verify operating efficiency by ensuring cycle times are maintained according to production specifications.
- Monitor production processes, assist with quality staff and process staff to eliminate defects, and ensure necessary adjustments made and documented to maintain product quality.
- Collaborate with the quality control team to ensure adherence to quality standards and specifications.
- Provide feedback on maintenance needs on molding machines and auxiliary equipment.
- Maintain accurate setup records, process logs, and troubleshooting reports.
- Ensure compliance with safety protocols and company procedures.
- Train and assist staff on proper molding techniques and troubleshooting methods.
Qualifications & Skills:
- High school diploma or equivalent; technical certification or associate degree in plastics technology or a related field is a plus.
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in plastic injection molding processing.
- Minimum of 2 years of experience in a supervisory role.
- Strong knowledge of injection molding machines, materials, and process optimization.
- Ability to read and interpret mold flow, work instructions, and quality specifications.
- Hands-on experience with mold setups, tooling, and troubleshooting.
- Familiarity with robotic automation and auxiliary equipment is a plus.
- Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
- Excellent time and resource management skills.
- Ability to work independently and in a team environment.
- Strong commitment to safety, quality, and continuous improvement.
Work Environment:
- Work in a manufacturing setting with exposure to high temperatures, noise, and machinery.
- Requires standing for long periods and the ability to lift/move up to 50 pounds.
- May involve shift work, overtime, and weekend schedules as needed.
