**Job Overview**:
Reporting to the Corporate Director of Quality Assurance and Food Safety, the QA Manager manages and oversees all activities of the Quality Department at the Montreal Facility. This includes managing and overseeing food safety compliance, leading government and third-party audits and inspections, managing and overseeing the HACCP Program, and SQF system. Helps promote quality culture through leadership, ownership, and accountability.

**Shifts**:
**Day shift: 7:30 am to 5:00 pm**:
**Responsibilities**:

- Establishes Quality Assurance Programs for the plant and provides the operations team with support to update these programs. Maintains HACCP Program including reassessment, and SQF Certification
- Oversee training program for Manufacturing employees, ensuring training records are maintained and current with qualifications required for their positions. Training requirements for staff members are to be reviewed annually. Training plans to be established for new employees or when an employee changes their job position.
- Leads and/or participates in internal and third-party inspections and audits. Serve as the primary SQF Practitioner. Facilitates follow-up and implementation of audit results, non-conformances, and recommendations ensuring implementation.
- Provide artwork approval for new and updated packaging.
- Create and update product specifications
- Knowledgeable in food labeling requirements
- Investigate customer complaints and oversees the implementation of corrective actions
- Ensures the quality of products at every stage of operations and recommends required changes to comply with standards.

**Requirements**:

- Bachelor’s Degree in Food Science and Technology or a related field
- Proven people management skills
- Knowledge of computers (Word, Excel) is required
- Strong written & verbal communication skills
- Problem-solving skills
- HACCP training
- Internal Auditing experience
- Experience managing SQF programs preferred
- Minimum 10 years experience of related industry experience
- Must be able to demonstrate competency in assessing food safety risk
