One True Love and Light is a compassionate Non-Profit initiative committed to making a meaningful impact in the Niagara region. Our primary mission is to provide nourishment and clothing to the homeless population, addressing immediate needs while fostering a sense of dignity and community.

In the medium term, we aspire to establish a sober living house, serving as a vital bridge for individuals transitioning from the mental health and justice systems. This initiative seeks to facilitate a smoother reintegration into society by offering a supportive environment and personalized care.

Our visionary goals include the creation of a comprehensive facility, encompassing continued healthcare, spiritual guidance, recreational therapy, vocational training, job placement, and general counseling. One True Love and Light envisions a holistic approach to empower individuals, fostering their physical, mental, and emotional well-being on their journey towards a brighter future.

**Role Description**

This is a volunteer Board Member role for One True Love and Light located in St Catharines, ON, with flexibility for some remote work. The Board Member will be responsible for contributing their expertise, perspectives, and experiences to the organization's strategic planning, governance and oversight functions. The Board Member will also participate in decision-making, setting policies, and ensuring compliance with regulations and ethical standards.

**Qualifications**
- Experience in a non-profit organization, board governance, or a related field
- Strong analytical and critical thinking skills, with the ability to provide objective and strategic advice, and make a significant contribution to decision-making processes
- Excellent communication, interpersonal, and collaboration skills, with the ability to contribute effectively to a diverse and multi-disciplinary team
- High ethical standards and integrity, with a strong sense of accountability and responsibility
- Strong leadership and decision-making skills with the ability to motivate and engage others towards achieving the organization's goals
- Experience with fundraising, grant writing, and financial management is an asset
- Bachelor's degree or higher in a related field is preferred, but not required
- Board certification or training is an asset

**Job Type**: Casual

Pay: $1.00 per year
