**Position Description**:Warehouse/Material Handler

**Reports To**: Warehouse Supervisor

**Primary Objectives**:

- Maintain and improve branch profitability and excellent customer service by accurately processing incoming and outgoing products
- Maintain the warehouse through
- Keeping aisles clear to easily access products
- Keeping the warehouse neat and clean
- Utilizing scan guns to maintain inventory accuracy
- Ensure that all safety standards are met and exceeded as outlined in the Company Safety Manual
- Demonstrate personal responsibility and accountability daily with regard to attitude, job performance, professionalism and commitment to continuous development
- Support and promote the company’s Mission and Vision

**Safety Accountabilities**:

- Use/wear any protective equipment, devices or clothing required by Marks Supply i.e. steel toed shoes or boots, cut resistant gloves, safety glasses, respirators-as applicable to the job
- Report to your supervisor the absence of safety devices or any defect in any equipment/safety device that you are aware of, which could endanger yourself or others.
- Report immediately to your supervisor: any contraventions of the Occupational Health & Safety Act (OHSA) or the Company Safety Policies, any accidents or incidents that occur, or the existence of any hazards you are aware of.
- Operate any necessary machinery or equipment safely in accordance with the safety rules and procedures for that equipment.
- Be aware of the common hazards in this position (following safety procedures and using caution): Ergonomic injuries, trips, slips, cuts, lifting incorrectly, hand/foot injuries, fall(arrest)
- Keep up to date on the company Health & Safety Policies, follow the policies and procedures.
- Ensure that all safety standards are met and exceeded as outlined in the OHSA and the Company Safety Manual.

**Key Accountabilities**:

- Accurately pick orders verifying quantities and product picked prior to packing into appropriate containers
- Utilize scan gun to process orders and move product, to maintain the integrity of the inventory
- Utilize forklift, tow motor, reach truck, hand pump cart, platform picker or other machinery to pick and move products
- Replenish inventory by putting away product, condensing product locations and performing location maintenance on products
- Assist other areas (Receiving, Shipping, Transfers) when Material Handler/Order Picking duties are complete
- Clean in the warehouse: sweeping, emptying cardboard and garbage
- Other related duties as assigned

**Requirements**:

- Prior warehouse experience. Plumbing or HVAC industry experience and product knowledge an asset
- Ability to operate material handing equipment. Previous forklift, tow motor, reach truck or platform picker experience preferred
- Flexible to work Day, Afternoon or Night shifts
- Ability to work overtime as required to complete daily tasks or to assist the department with a heavy workload
- Physically agile and able to lift, carry and move large and awkward items
- Ability to work in a team environment
- Able to read and write in English
- Excellent attention to detail
- Ability to make decisions and meet daily deadlines working in a fast-paced environment
- Flexible to change tasks quickly when necessary
- Self-motivated to look for new tasks when work is completed
- Comfortable with computers. Experience with computerized scan gun an asset
- Good interpersonal skills and commitment to customer service to maintain mutually beneficial relationships with our staff, customers and vendors
