Food and Beverage Server

Bar Isabel Servers are responsible for accurately taking orders from and serving food and beverages to patrons.. Bar Isabel Servers are required to have extensive knowledge of the Bar Isabel menu, and bar/wine selection in order to provide recommendations when solicited. Servers are also responsible for adhering to cleanliness protocols and maintaining the high service standards of the Restaurant.
**Position Responsibilities**
The incumbent will be accountable for the following:
- Taking food and drink orders accurately with a positive attitude
- Writing patrons' food orders down, and entering orders into the POS
- Accurate placing orders through the chef or bar manager following the provided guidelines
- Providing superior customer service and engaging with patrons in a friendly manner
- Maintaining up to date knowledge of the Restaurant’s menu and cocktail/wine list
- Using menu and cocktail/wine knowledge to provide suggestions to patrons and answer customer inquiries
- Extensive and up to date knowledge of the menu, with the ability to make suggestions, and flag allergies and dietary restrictions.
- Extensive and up to date knowledge of the cocktail list, as well as classic cocktails, and general knowledge of the back bar selection with the ability to make suggestions.
- The ability to follow instructions and make cocktails up to the standards of Bar Isabel should a bartender or manager not be able to fulfill those duties
- Extensive knowledge of wines available by-the-glass, including dessert wines, and the ability to make suggestions.
- Knowledge of the wine by-the-bottle list, and the ability to make suggestions, or collaborate with management to do so.
- Flagging allergies and dietary restrictions to the BOH staff
- Ensuring patrons are enjoying meals and taking action to correct and communicate any problems to management
- Collecting payments from patrons
- Assisting support staff and/or dishwashers with side duties when necessary, or if other staff are unavailable to perform tasks normally assigned to them.
- Ensuring all tasks are complete before clocking out or getting the OK to leave from management before doing so
- Effective time management and awareness of turn times.
- Locking the restaurant and set alarm codes if necessary

**Qualifications**
- 2+ years’ experience providing excellent customer service in a fast-paced environment
- Knowledge of restaurant menu and bar/wine selection
- Ability to answer patron inquiries and provide food and drink suggestions when solicited
- A positive and friendly attitude
- Strong customer service skills
- Strong communication skills (both written and verbal)
- Ability work well under pressure and manage competing priorities
- Ability to perform high-quality work while unsupervised
- Ability to work collaboratively as part of a team
- Ability to process payments accurately and operate a point-of-sale system (POS).
- Ability to work in a fast-paced work environment and deliver orders in a timely manner
- Ability to lift and move items (i.e., Tables) weighing up to 50lbs.
- Ability to stand and be on their feet for extended periods of time, i.e., 6+ hours.
