**Job Description**:
In accordance with the Vision, Purpose, and Values, and strategic direction of the Vancouver Island Health Authority (Island Health), patient & staff safety is a priority and a responsibility shared by everyone at VIHA; as such, the requirement to continuously improve quality and safety is inherent in all aspects of this position.

Reporting to the Coordinator or delegate, the Quality Assurance Clerk performs a variety of clinical documentation quality related duties for multi-site operations in Island Health, such as identifying, investigating and resolving data integrity issues related to client documentation in the electronic health record. The position will contribute to the overall management of client data integrity within the evolving electronic health record in accordance with established standards, guidelines, policies and procedures.

**QUALIFICATIONS**:
**Education, Training And Experience**:
Grade 12, graduation from an approved program in medical transcription or equivalent and one (1) year's recent, related experience or an equivalent combination of education, training, and experience.

**Skills And Abilities**:

- Ability to keyboard at 60 w.p.m.
- Knowledge of medical terminology.
- Ability to operate related equipment.
- Ability to organize work.
- Ability to deal with others effectively.
- Ability to communicate effectively, both verbally and in writing.
- Physically able to perform the duties of the position.
