Edmonton Public Library is looking for an outgoing and creative Youth Services Librarian to join our team This is an exciting opportunity for someone who is passionate about ensuring EPL delivers high quality programs and services to children, families and community organizations.
Reporting to the Manager, Youth Services, the Youth Services Librarian will work with the library’s staff and leadership to collect, transform and analyze a variety of internal and external data into completed reports, presentations, and data visualizations. In particular, the position will complete research and evaluation projects focused on establishing benchmarks for proportion and distribution of system-wide early literacy programming, factoring in community needs and ongoing tools for evaluation; evaluate mobile Sing, Sign, Laugh and Learn and Ready. Set. Read programs; and address gaps in programming for youths aged 3 to 5 years old. In addition, this position will develop recommendations and implementation strategies for youth services and assist in achieving other strategic priorities as required.
**Job Requirements**:
- Master of Library and Information Studies degree, or equivalent, from an ALA-accredited institution is required.
- Experience in quantitative and qualitative data analysis and performance measurement is preferred.
- Experience utilizing a range of qualitative and quantitative research methods, designing, and implementing research projects, and reporting on results is preferred.
- Advanced skills in the use of data collection, data wrangling, analysis, and visualization tools is preferred; experience working with SQL is an asset.
- Experience working with children, families, and community groups is preferred.
- Experience working as a professional Librarian is preferred.

- Ability to work effectively with children and families, as well as customers of all ages and backgrounds.
- Ability to work effectively outside of traditional library activities and settings.
- Ability to adapt to shifting priorities and new service directions.
- Demonstrated superior interpersonal, communication, presentation and collaboration skills.
- Ability to contribute positively and work effectively within a team environment.

Satisfactory background screening is required for this position which includes a Criminal Record Check/Police Information Check.

**Pay Band**:
$41.02 - $52.36 per hour*
- Approximately $74,943 - $95,661 per annum based on a 35 hour work week.
