ABOUT THE ROLE
The Process Stream Manager, Reproduction Rights, is responsible for monitoring, evaluating and facilitating improvements to the end-to-end RR business process. This role works with and supports the SOCAN RR staff by learning and documenting current policies and workflow processes while providing cross-functional facilitation with current PR processes, identifying gaps and dysfunction with PR processes and providing suggestions to the VP RRO and Head of RR, for the overall improvement and evolution of the department

The Process Stream Manager will be expected to interact with and engage business owners as well as map the current state of the end-to-end reproduction rights processes. Notably, they will understand the different tariffs/agreements and license fees that flow into RR, how works are ingested and updated in the RR system, how the RR distribution rules apply, how the distributions for different usages are calculated and the money distributed to clients. This end-to-end knowledge will allow the Process Stream Manager to achieve industry-leading business operations efficiencies and make suggestions to management around implementing changes or improvements, as needed. This role will create business cases aligned with RR business strategies and forecast expected results of process changes, analyze implemented changes, and make continuous suggestions for adjustments to workflow, schedules or other processes to management as required. They will prepare and provide new procedures, user guides and other documentation to business teams as needed

Additionally, this individual will be required to assist with day-to-day processes when needed.

The Process Stream Manager will build strong partnership with the RR and PR teams to ensure the integrity, accuracy, and efficiency of the RR processes. They will lead and facilitate project requirement meetings where appropriate. They will also work with RR management to ensure all initiatives are aligned and approved and staff are aware of and trained on any new policies or procedures to ensure positive and effective change management where required.

WHAT YOU’LL DO / KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
- Understand the inputs/outputs to applicable distribution process and what factors can influence them
- Understand the logic and copyright laws around repertoire and rights management
- Understand the process for RR licensing and various usages which include reproduction rights
- Evaluation of existing business process(es)
- Process documentation
- Develop and/or improve business process reporting (including revenue and productivity metrics)
- Identify process improvements via various methods including process data analysis, financial analysis, holding focus groups with key internal and/or external stakeholders
- Work with other Process Stream Managers to identify corporate operational priorities - regular business and improvements
- Assist with day-to-day RR activities where needed
- Work with RR Operations team (VP and Head of RR) to identify the needs of the business
- Other duties as required

WHAT YOU WILL BRING / QUALIFICATIONS & EXPERIENCE
- Bilingual in French and English
- Rights management experience (5+ years)
- Client service/care experience (2+ years)
- Product and/or service development experience
- Effective at analyzing business processes and implementing systems to support stakeholder needs
- Project management or Business Analyst experience (an asset)
- Knowledge of existing SOCAN royalty reporting products (an asset)
