ABOUT THE ROLE
SOCAN is looking for a detail-oriented, results-focused and proactive individual to join the Reproduction Rights team. The role of RR Administrator is responsible for research, data entry and validation activities that supports the RR operational team in the areas of:

- Distribution & Collections - manual matching of music usage by radio, television, audio and Audio-Visual streaming services to SOCAN RR’s catalog of musical works
- Repertoire - updating and maintaining musical works to ensure proper royalty distributions.

The goals of all activities assigned are to provide excellent client service, maximize royalty distributions and ensure the accuracy of SOCAN RR’s catalogues.
WHAT YOU’LL DO / KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
- Management of SOCAN RR repertoire, including the addition of new and/or updating of existing
- Research of the musical work and associated shareholders
- Update works according to rightsholder instruction (based on agreements and metadata submissions)
- Merge potential duplicate works into a single payable musical work
- Matching of music usage reports from radio, television, audio and Audio-Visual streaming services to SOCAN RR catalog
- Reviewing possible match results and research of musical work to ensure valid match to reported music use.
- Ensure works matched to usage reports are updated to qualify as “payment ready”
- Assist with client onboarding and inquiry activities
- Data entry (account related information)
- Inquiry research
- Assist with data clean-up activities.
- Other duties and projects, as required.

WHAT YOU WILL BRING / QUALIFICATIONS & EXPERIENCE
- Computer literacy required, including working knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite, specifically MS Excel
- Bilingual in French and English is a must.
- Music industry knowledge is an asset.
- Detail oriented and thorough
- Excellent research skills
