We currently require a customer oriented individual for the position of full time Parking Patrol/Maintenance in Winnipeg, MB.
This position consists of 3 days on patrol and 2 days of maintenance. As a patroller you are assigned to an area to ensure public compliance with existing parking ordinance while maintaining a high level of professionalism. In the maintenance role you will be responsible for ensuring our parking locations maintain a professional image and are fully operational.
This is a full time position Monday - Friday from 6am - 2pm.
**What Would You Be Doing?**
**Patrol**:
- Patrol properties to maintain safety and relay information about incidents or emergencies to appropriate personnel
- Identify vehicles in violation of parking codes and write warnings and citations for illegally parked vehicles
- Observe and report hazardous conditions such as missing traffic signs or street markings as well as suspicious objects or vehicles
- Monitor environmental conditions to detect possible hazards (ice, etc.)
- Investigate and answer complaints regarding contested parking citations
- Prepare and maintain operational records ie: activity logs and contested citations
- Collect coins from parking meters
- Maintain assigned equipment and perform simple vehicle maintenance, such as checking oil and report mechanical problems to Supervisor
**Maintenance**:
- Adherence to daily, weekly, monthly, and quarterly garage maintenance plan, including filling out of daily logs
- Minor equipment repairs
- Litter pick-up on parking levels, wiping down of signage, equipment, and cashier booth, sweeping the garage entrance and exit lanes
- Emptying of garbage receptacles as required and replacing lights in parking levels as required
- Minor snow clearing on levels/ramps and taking care of any icy patches
- Provide directional information to patrons
- Monitors garage activity and reports any suspicious behavior to security and parking management, as well as any safety concerns or structural damage
- Other duties as assigned
**What Are the Working Conditions?**
- Must be able to work outdoors in all weather conditions and frequent exposure to all temperature conditions
- Frequent bending, stretching, kneeling, and twisting
- Lifting up to 20 lbs may be required
**What Are We Looking For?**
- Minimum 2-3 years customer service experience
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Demonstrated problem solving skills
- Able to maintain a professional demeanor in all situations
- Able to work independently with mínimal supervision
- Strong attention to detail and good observational skills
- Valid class 5F Manitoba drivers license and clean abstract
- Basic computer skills
- Able to pass a criminal record check
