**Position Summary**:The **Shipping / Receiving Lead
- Day Shift** works with the Production Team to ensure the shipping and receiving is completed daily, ready to meet the plant warehouse needs and is responsible for assisting with the production plant inventory requirements.

**Hours of work**: Monday to Friday: 7:30 a.m. until 4:00 p.m.

**Responsibilities**:

- Prepares and completes daily shipping and receiving tasks.
- Counterbalance forklift operation.
- Assembles crates and maintaining forklift charging equipment.
- Completes freight transportation paperwork by weight & dimensions.
- Resolves assembly problems by altering dimensions to meet specifications, notifying the supervisor to obtain additional resources.
- Keeps equipment operations by completing preventative maintenance requirements; following manufacturer’s instructions; troubleshooting malfunctions; calling for repairs.
- Ensure customer expectations and company quality standards targets are met.
- Maintains safe and clean working environment by strictly adhering to plant safety and housekeeping standards.
- Identify safety gaps and self-initiate corrective actions.
- Be a change agent and actively promote safety activities and participation within the organization.
- Maintains supplies inventory by checking stock to determine inventory level and anticipating needed supplies.
- Conserves resources by using equipment and supplies, as needed to minimize waste.
- Documents actions by completing production and quality forms.
- Any other tasks that are assigned from time to time by the production supervisor.
- High school diploma or equivalent experience.
- Mechanical aptitude, Wood Working experience and forklift license / experience.
- Experience working in Warehouse and/or Manufacturing environment is an asset.
- Ability to read and interpret shipping and receiving documents, inventory reports, loading dock procedures, safety rules, and use a computer.
- Knowledge of Ontario Health and Safety Act, Health and Safety procedures an asset and must be willing to maintain strict adherence to safety rules and regulations.
- Ability to be on their feet for most of each shift.
- High attention to detail, quality standards and a commitment to meeting deadlines as per customer requirements.
