Caterpillar has an exciting opportunity for a **Marketing Consultant **to join our Global Construction & Infrastructure (GCI) Division responsible for the Marketing Communications Strategy specific to Construction Industries products.
This role is primarily responsible for developing and directing the overall planning, management, coordination, and execution of the WeChat international and WhatsApp strategy and content for the Construction Industry. The focus will be on promoting GCI prime product and technologies and building brand relevance by planning and strategizing channel campaigns that increase engagement and inspire action. A deep understanding of the WeChat channel and why/how different target audiences use them, as well as knowing how to translate the brand’s positioning is critical as well as how to trans-create existing content into simplified Chinese. This position will not have a dedicated budget but will work with Segmented Marketing Managers to determine content strategy and regional budget allocation and editorial & promotional calendar alignment and prioritization.
**Job Duties**:
- Develop, execute, and maintain the global WeChat and WhatsApp channel strategy for Global Construction & Infrastructure’s Marketing Division and
- Creation of new and trans-creation of existing Thought Leadership content to drive awareness/engagement in relevant industry products
- Define content strategy, goals, and objectives across WeChat and WhatsApp channels / executive and optimize
- Manage SOE content schedule and use data to understand relevant topics
- Oversee the creative development and production of WeChat content. Be accountable for the final development and production of creative assets and ensure they align with go-to-market objectives.
- Lead the creation of conceptual ideas and develop new WeChat content that increases engagement and initiate action
- Oversee audience research and reporting. Understand the audiences to ensure the brand is showing up authentically across channels. Formulate reports and presentations that tell a clear story to internal stakeholders and senior leaders.
- Collaborate with team to improve operational processes, tools, and resources that will lead to high-quality design and creative output across social channels.
- Create strategy and define goals and objectives for influencer programs, while managing influencer content creation and program execution
**Basic Requirements**:
- Bachelor’s degree in Marketing, Communications, Journalism, Public Relations, Business or related field
- 15+ years of promotional or digital marketing job-related experience
- Proficient in the marketing communications discipline
- Advanced proficiency creating PowerPoint presentations and ability to successfully present to large groups and leadership teams
- The position requires fluent Chinese Mandarin language, both written and verbal as well as English language proficiency
- Experience with Caterpillar Products & Service and prime product sales and marketing processes
- Experience with creation of Thought Leadership content
- WeChat Marketing and WhatsApp knowledge is desired
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills are required to deal with issues crossing boundaries or persuade others inside or outside the organization to take action
- Strong project management skills
- Strong writing and presentation skills and examples of successful Communication Strategies/Results
- Experience with CRM software such as Salesforce Marketing Cloud
- Project management with customer experience and/or events
- Caterpillar (or other OEM / Manufacture Marketing) field or dealer experience
- Marketing Creative Agency experience and/or management of creative agencies
- Ability to effectively collaborate with people across many different backgrounds and cultures, internally and externally, with the appropriate influence and ability to resolve differences
- Strong organizational, planning and communication skills
