**About the Job**:
Reporting to the Program Manager, the Child & Youth Activity Worker will plan, facilitate and assess developmentally appropriate activities and experiences that promote the well-being of children/youth and that reflect the diverse needs of children/youth. The Child & Youth Activity Worker will provide one-to-one and group support to children/youth, utilizing the CWWA model, facilitate homework clubs and works with the local school as requested, organize and facilitate recreational activities such as communal meals, cultural celebrations, movie nights etc. for children/youth and their moms. In addition, the Child & Youth Activity Worker provides group and individual childcare as required to mothers who may have court appearances, appointments with lawyers, counselors or doctors etc., assists families moving in and moving out, preforms light house-keeping duties, responds to emergency situations, and keeps accurate records, files, log notes & statistical information as per Atira’s practice & policies.

**Additional Requisites/Assets**:

- A valid First Aid Certificate is required
- post-secondary training in childcare, or a certificate in a related human/social service field or recreation course
- (6) months of recent related experience or an equivalent combination of education, training and experience.
- Non-Violent Crisis Intervention Certificate is required
- Food Safe certificate is required
- Experience working with children who have/are experiencing and or have witnessed violence and abuse is an asset
- Must have a Class 5 driver’s license
- Access to a vehicle, with business class and $2,000,000 liability insurance, while on shift - Must provide proof of insurance
- Covid-19 (Including Booster) and annual flu vaccinations are recommended
