Job Description:
**Who We Are**
Columbia Cabinets was founded in 1970 with the simple vision to deliver quality cabinetry to customers while upholding and living out our values. Here at Columbia, we value honesty, integrity, teamwork and loyalty. These values saturate everything we do, from our final product to the family culture we work in.
We are looking to add valuable team members to our growing business. Our ambitious plans require us to seek out individuals who will fit our culture and who either bring skill sets or have a willingness to learn and develop.
We are open to adding a wide range of team members that fit our future vision, below you will see one of the key areas of interest.
**Quality Assurance**
$25 - $28/ Hour - Day Shift 5:00 AM to 1:30 PM
**Job Summary**:
The Quality Assurance is the final guardian of Columbia Cabinets’ promise to customers. Every cabinet that leaves the plant ultimately finds its way into someone’s home, where flawless fit, finish, and function translate directly into trust in our brand. A single scratch, mis-aligned door, or colour inconsistency can erode that trust, trigger costly returns, and—most importantly—disappoint a homeowner who has invested in the Columbia name. By catching defects at both post-finishing and final-assembly, you ensure each product perfectly reflects our brand.
The role is perfectly suited for someone who is detail oriented and sees quality as a personal mission, not a checklist. It would be a major advantage to have worked in a cabinet shop or in quality assurance in the past.
**Key Responsibilities**:
- Inspect every completed cabinet for dimensions, squareness, alignment, hardware function, and overall aesthetics.
- Verify each unit’s SKU, paperwork, and labels against production documentation at the final-assembly checkpoint.
- Examine finished surfaces for colour uniformity, sheen, defects, etc.
- Record inspection data, defect codes, and root-cause notes in real time.
- Collaborate with Continuous Improvement Coordinators on data collected
- Create re-work tickets as required..
**Desired Skills/Interests/Experience**
- Attention to detail.
- Excellent communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to work effectively with team members.
- Knowledge of kitchen cabinetry industry standards, regulations, and trends.
- Ability to multitask and manage time effectively in a fast-paced environment.
- Prior experience working with custom cabinetry or high-end kitchen designs.
