With operations across Canada and United States, Bento brings together a dynamic team of people with diverse backgrounds, experience, and talent, to create an exceptional guest experience. **Location**: 25 Sims Crescent, Unit 1, Richmond Hill, ON L4B 1C9 | Shift: Monday to Friday - 9:00AM to 5:30PM **(Hybrid role)** **Responsibilities**: - Review labeling documentations such as, but are not limited to, product specifications, finished product labels, nutritional and allergen information, for regulatory compliance - Coordinate with external parties (distributors, vendors, importers, authorities) to ensure that products are legally compliant and meets all Bento requirements and standards - Review, create and maintain regulatory information (product specifications, product labels, nutritional and allergen information) related to ingredients, ingredient formulations and finished products for the Canadian and US market to assess and assure compliance with the corresponding regulatory agency’s policies, regulations, and standards (CFIA, Health Canada, FDA). - Create finished product labels using software such as NutriCalc, and BarTender. Experience with a similar nutrition software such as ESHA Genesis is an asset. - Maintain up-to-date knowledge of current food regulations, labeling requirements and relevant technical product and processing information in Canada and US. Assure appropriate interpretation of these regulations and communication of the impact to the business. - Assist with implementation of upcoming regulations, Front-Of-Pack and How2Recycle compliant finished product labels. - Contribute insight to policy regarding country regulatory and policy changes as they relate to labeling as a member of the internal HACCP Team and Food Safety Committee - Maintain, catalog, and retain all labeling materials and documentations in accordance with company policies, procedures, and technologies - Maintain ingredient and approved supplier documentations using TraceGains software as part of Supplier Approval Program - May be required to work on special projects and other duties/responsibilities on a periodic basis **Qualifications**: - Education required: College / University degree in Food Science / Nutrition / Quality Assurance or related degree - 1+ years of experience in Quality Assurance / Regulatory Affairs / Product Development (coupled with Regulatory Affairs) role within the food industry - Knowledge and understanding of Canadian (CFIA, Health Canada) and US (FDA) regulatory requirements - Excellent communication and organizational skills with a high attention to details - Excellent and rigorous documentation practices and change control processes, such as revision control - Demonstrates flexibility in managing changing priorities and demands - Experience with using Food Labeling software such as NutriCalc, ESHA Genesis R&D and Marka would be an asset - Experience with using Supplier Management Software such as TraceGains would be an asset - Bilingual French and English, written and spoken would be an asset **Why you should join our team**: - Power of Collaboration: Live our core values - "Own it", "Care about it", "Make it exceptional", and "Win together" - as we work together to create better food for everyone, the Japanese way. - Competitive Rewards: Reap the benefits of a comprehensive compensation package with car allowance, gas card, a bonus plan, group health benefits, and retirement plans that recognize your outstanding contribution. - Ignite Your Potential: Fuel your growth with extensive training and opportunities for career advancement, empowering you to unleash your full potential. - Champion Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion: We are committed to fostering a workplace where diversity, equity, and inclusion thrive, empowering every voice to be heard and celebrated through meaningful initiatives and programs. - Drive Sustainable Impact: As part of our dedication to Environmental, Social, and Governance (ESG) principles, we actively promote sustainable practices and initiatives to create a positive impact on our environment and communities.
