**Summary**
The Delivery Driver is responsible the timely and accurate delivery and pick up of parts to and from vendors, suppliers and customers. The Delivery Driver relevant documentation and ensures that the delivery vehicle is in optimal operating condition.
The Delivery Driver is a self-starter and strives to be a conscientious and courteous representative of the dealership. When operating a vehicle, the Delivery Driver ensures that all rules of the road are maintained, including but not limited to, distracted driving legislation and speed limitations. The Delivery Driver will maintain a valid Driver’s License and satisfactory Driving Abstract.
The Delivery Driver pays a high level of attention to the details by ensuring all relevant documentation and related paperwork or computer entries has been correctly and fully completed.
The Delivery Driver is focused on achieving maximum profitability and develops collaborative relationships with customers, suppliers and outside vendors to develop profitable and amicable long-term relationships.
**The Details**
**Develop strong relationships with customer**
- Greet customers, vendors and suppliers in a prompt, friendly and courteous manner.
- Sensitive to customer needs and flexible to wholesale customer environments
- Develop and maintain relationships with customers on the delivery roster
- Handles all customer queries and concerns with a genuine intent to resolve their problem or issue.
**Develop collaborative relationships**
- Strong team player who works with everyone to achieve dealership goals.
- Work with dealership departments to ensure activities are profitable and competitive.
- Provide support to other departments as required.
- Maintain frequent contact with department manager
**Be detailed oriented**
- Ensure all documentation/paperwork is completed in an accurate and timely fashion.
- Before Delivery, ensure an efficient delivery route is established and followed, and that all pick lists are filled.
- Reviews and analyzes actions regularly to determine how to better utilize time and plan more effectively.
**Commit to the Dealership Brand**
- Stay up-to-date on the manufacturer training programs.
- Be able to explain technical features, options and how they benefit the customer.
- Be knowledgeable about new features, specials and updates.
- Be a champion for delivering excellent service 100% of the time.
- Actively maintain the cleanliness of personal and team workspaces.
Maintain a high level of professional appearance.
**Specific Skills**
- Ability to lift and carry (short distances) 50 lbs periodically throughout the shift, as well as repeated bending, stooping and reaching with the use of a stool or ladder as required
- Strong interpersonal skills with a positive and engaging attitude.
- Excellent verbal communication.
- Excellent customer service skills including listening.
- Organized with an attention to detail and the ability to pick out errors.
- Flexible and open to change; has initiative to take on special tasks as needed.
- Ability to manage customer complaints and to solve basic problems.
- Holds a valid driver’s license.
**Education & Experience**
- Minimum High School Diploma or Equivalent.
- Automotive experience would be an asset.
