Edmonton, Canada Fries & Baynes Chartered Professional Accountants Full time

**Chartered Professional Accounting Firm seeking experienced Accounting Technician for immediate position.**

As an accounting technician, your primary position will be to provide accounting support to a number of our clients and other professional staff.

**Responsibilities**:

- Preparation of year-end engagement files (working papers, financial statements, etc.)
- Preparation of personal and corporate tax returns
- Communicate and work with clients in a professional manner
- Build relationships with existing and new clients
- Assist the team with overall office support and administrative tasks
- Providing bookkeeping and other support to clients and internal staff (filing of GST returns, T-Slips, payroll, etc.)

**Technical Skillset required**:

- Minimum two full years experience in a public accounting firm preparing year end files in Caseware
- Diploma or certificate in accounting (recommended) but not required with stronger work experience
- Experience with full-cycle bookkeeping and all modules is beneficial
- Must be familiar with tax compliance and reporting deadlines
- Strong accounting skills and attention to detail
- Must be proficient with Caseware, Excel, Word, Sage/Quickbooks, and tax software
