**Job Description - Intermediate Transportation Planner**

Safe Roads Engineering (SRE) strives to provide clients with services and products that are among the best in the industry. We specialize in design engineering, overhead sign structures, modular bridges, noise walls, and traffic management plans.

SRE is looking to add an Intermediate Transportation Planner to work out of our Aurora office with work from hope abilities. Working alongside our existing engineering team and other divisions within the Powell Group of Companies, the Intermediate Transportation Planner will provide expertise in traffic planning and operations and be the main interface between the Manager of Transportation and Planning data analysis and junior staff.

**Main Responsibilities**

¨ Undertakes and manages transportation planning and traffic engineering studies including:

- transportation impact studies (TIS)
- traffic safety studies
- multi-modal studies
- active transportation (AT) studies/projects
- transportation demand management (TDM) studies
- parking studies

¨ Design / Review traffic control plans

¨ Identify and participate in the acquisition of new clients and work (research and liaise with clients, network within the industry);
¨ Completing traffic modelling and analysis with applicable design software (Synchro, HCS, etc.);
¨ Conduct and lead field studies (site visits, inventories, traffic, and parking counts, etc);
¨ Act as Project Manager and / or Assistant Project Manager on various projects to ensure timelines and targets are being met;
¨ Assist in or undertake the preparation of proposals and report writing;
¨ Providing mentorship, guidance, quality control, support and oversight of junior staff to complete various traffic engineering tasks;
¨ Attends and participates at client, stakeholders, and public meetings; and

¨ Other duties as assigned.

**Qualifications**

¨ A 4-year University Degree/Diploma in Civil Engineering

¨ 1 year of experience in the Transportation Planning field

¨ Eligible for P.Eng. License from the Professional Engineers of Ontario;
¨ Minimum 4 years of relevant experience in traffic engineering services in the consulting sector;
¨ Valid driver’s license
