Airport Maintenance Supervisor

**Position Overview**:
An employee of this position directs and performs activities necessary to provide for the safe and
efficient operation of a certified airport. This is done directly and/or through the airport staff.
Supervision
Reporting to the Out-of-Scope Manager or designate, an employee in this classification may be
given considerable latitude in making independent decisions to achieve operational objectives.
**Principle Duties & Responsibilities**:
Maintain the airfield in accordance with operations manuals / agreements, current
aerodrome related regulations and standards.
Perform maintenance of airport infrastructure, grounds, buildings, access roads and
parking lots.
Maintain a secure airfield from unauthorized access.
Supervision and scheduling of airport staff.
Assist in orientation and training of new airport staff.
Assist in verification of time cards accuracy.
Monitor AMSCR & AIM reports for accuracy
Maintain adequate stocks of operationally critical supplies.
Monitor fleet inspections and maintenance.
Organize fleet and supplies seasonal readiness.
Assist in directing contractors and other City Crews working at the Airport.
Preparation and maintenance of records and reports respecting airfield, fleet, and
facilities conditions and the Safety Management System.
Perform assigned duties in absence of Airport Manager including but not limited to:
On-scene controller
File NOTAM’s
Monitor publications (CFS, CAP) for accuracy and review Advisory Circulars
and Regulation changes impacts on airport operations
Duties of Safety Management System Manager
NavCanada & Transport Canada liaison duties
Customer services duties for tenants, pilots and passengers
Perform daily janitorial duties.
Follow Acts, Regulations, Bylaws, Agreements, policies and procedures.
Follows the Act, Regulations and policies related to Occupational Health and Safety.
Performs other related duties as assigned.
**Required Qualifications**:
? Grade 12 or equivalent.
Training and at least three (3) years of experience in the maintenance and operation of
Airports.
Must possess and maintain a valid Driver's License relevant to airport equipment type.
(Minimum Class 5 A-G)
Must possess and maintain an Industry Canada - Restricted Operator Certificate
- Aeronautical. (Radio Licence)
Must possess and maintain an Airside Vehicle Operator's Permit (AVOP).
Must possess and maintain a AMSCR-CRFI (GRF) certificate
