**Our Team**:
As an integral member of our Strategy, Performance & Organizational Standards team, you’ll be involved in developing and rolling out our Corporate and Departmental strategic plan, performance management program and facilitating program reviews and service improvement projects. You’ll have opportunities to provide insight, and help our department think of new ways to provide service to our clients both internal and external to the organization. You’ll help lead us through operational planning and risk assessment activities and create and share ideas for continuous improvement with our divisional information and planning teams. Our goal is to continuously improve and look for new and innovate ways of doing our work and reaching our goals all while being a world-class leader. **The Opportunity**:
Reporting to the Director, Strategy, Performance & Organizational Standards, as Manager, Strategic & Quality Initiatives you will be responsible for leading, coordinating, advising and implementing strategic and quality initiatives within the Department. You will also manage the Department’s health information management program and assist the Departmental Leadership Team (DLT) to implement and monitor departmental strategic affairs.
- You will have the responsibility of supervising Health Promotion & Research Analysts, Strategic & Quality Improvement Specialist, Health Information Management Supervisor, and students. You will also indirectly supervise additional staff and oversee work of external consultants and service providers.
- You will manage the Department’s health information and privacy management program, including records management, electronic medical records, information security/control, and departmental technology initiatives in collaboration with divisional stakeholders.
- You will also manage the Department’s tracking, monitoring, and reporting related to Ministry accountability requirements, including for the Ministry’s annual service plan and the Department’s Risk Management Framework.
- Your leadership skills will help support your work with the Chief Nursing Officer (CNO) to manage the implementation of strategies and work plans in support of continuous quality improvement of nursing practices across the Department. You will also monitor legislation and guidelines to anticipate and determine impacts; identify and investigate resulting opportunities and risks; and recommend action to DLT.
- You will bring your experience in coordinating and reporting research to assess and ensure support to departmental research training needs and departmental research agenda.
- You will manage the staffing, consulting, training, and materials budgets related to strategic and quality initiatives/projects; as well as for capital projects relating to records management and electronic health records systems.
- The requirements for this position would normally be acquired through knowledge of results management (planning, organizing, coordinating, evaluating), resource management skills, change management, and health information management, normally acquired through a Masters degree in a related discipline (e.g., health, education, business), plus progressively responsible related experience, or equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Current knowledge of information management systems and procedures in a health setting, including electronic health records, records management, and the protection/privacy of client health information.
- Demonstrated knowledge of and ability to comply with policies, procedures, collective agreements, and related legislation and standards (e.g., health protection and promotion, regulated health professions, privacy, Ministry standards/regulations, personal health information protection).
- Strong knowledge of strategic and operational planning practices
