**Scope of the Position**:
Atlantic Coated Papers Ltd (ACP) is looking for a high energy, entrepreneurial finance professional to join the accounting team as the Assistant Controller. As the Controller’s go-to person, s/he will manage
and deliver day-to-day financial support for the company in accordance with the ACP’s established policies and procedures in order to maintain the integrity of all financial information. This individual
should be ready to roll-up their sleeves, deep dive financial issues and support the controller in maintaining and enforcing internal controls. The Assistant Controller will also play an integral role in the
annual budget preparation, working capital management, and financial close processes, KPI tracking as well as actively support quote cost estimating.

**Major Responsibilities**:
**Financial Reporting**:
Assist in managing the overall month end close process and deadline, including but not limited to:
The creation and approval of journal entries
Ensuring completeness of accruals
Month-end balance sheet reconciliations; timely adjustment of any unreconciled/unsupported balances.
Completion of external audit file requirements and liaise with external auditors to ensure an efficient and timely year-end audit.
Responsible for accurate reporting of capital expenditures, fixed asset reporting, prepaids, rebate accruals, bank reconciliations
Review and analyze manufacturing/cost variance to identify and adjust inaccuracies and maintain the margin reports each month
Responsible for the payment of taxes
Payroll review and back up to the Payroll Admin (external service)
Assist in meeting reporting requirements for government, tax schedules, and management statements
**Internal Controls, Procedures**:
Develop and implement financial processes and procedures, as needed to support changing business demands.
Identify, document, and communicate all accounting policies, procedures and standards
Identify and recommend improvements to existing controlling processes
Establish and maintain a strong internal control structure including appropriate segregation of duties in the Finance Department
Recommend changes to continuously improve systems and financial performance.
**Annual Budget Planning and Quarterly Forecasting**:
Assist in the development and execution of the annual strategic plan that supports company performance objectives and industry/field related benchmarking and trends, with specific focus on working capital
and fixed asset management
Oversee and produce credible forecasting of working capital, capital expenditure and tooling balances
Support the Controller in complex analysis of foreign exchange and execution of foreign currency hedges
**Management Reporting**:
Perform weekly analysis and reporting of operational results, assessing efficiency reports
Design and implement management reporting templates to support operational decisions that flexes to ever changing business conditions
Ad-Hoc management reporting and analysis projects
**Cost Accounting**:
Maintain and improve the product costing process and bill of materials and Labor routings process within the factories.
Assist in the preparation of costing for new product quotations, understand the manufacturing process
**Skills and Qualifications**
Educational Requirements: Post-Secondary Degree specializing in the Finance and Accounting Stream required
License Required Accounting Designation (CPA CA and CPA CMA.) required with minimum 2 years post designation experience
Experience Required Two to five years financial management experience in a manufacturing environment
Very strong analytical and organizational skills with ability to prioritize and meet demanding timelines
Proficiency in ERP/MRP fully integrated systems and Microsoft Office, especially Excel and PowerPoint
Strong interpersonal skills with proficiency in written and verbal communications
Solid work ethic with ability to work some overtime and travel (limited) in order to support achievement of objectives.
