**Job Summary**:
As an Assistant Controller, you will be involved in all accounting areas of the organization. You will be expected to have a familiarity with all accounting functions, as well as accounting software and related tools. Your day-to-day responsibilities will be varied and will include transaction posting, reconciliation (transaction volume is in the thousands per month), and generating reports. You will also be expected to develop a thorough knowledge of the point-of-sale system and be able to support office and retail staff in its correct use. In reporting to and collaborating with the Controller, you will be expected to solve accounting challenges as well as develop and implement solutions that make our processes more efficient. This is a hands-on position; you will be presented with entry-level tasks from time to time, but will be assigned more challenging functions based on performance.

Excell has a number of related organizations under its corporate umbrella, including telecommunications infrastructure and managed IT services. You will be called on to work with these organizations on an ongoing basis, though initially, the bulk of the work will pertain to the core retail telecommunications business.

**Requirements**:

- Accounting diploma or degree
- **Advanced Microsoft Excel spreadsheet knowledge,** as the position will include analysis of large volumes of data.
- **Proven experience with extracting and analyzing data from varied sources**:

- **Ability to understand and evaluate the flow of accounting information through various software systems in order to assist Controller, and provide process guidance to retail and support staff**:

- **Extensive reconciliation experience, including banking, for reconciling large transactional entries for multiple bank accounts (over 20)**:

- Knowledge of COGS for heavily inventory-based accounting process
- **Experience with multi-departmental accounting (multiple locations) for amalgamated reports and analysis**:

- Payroll processing experience
- Complete understanding of general ledger accounts, account reconciliation, trial balances and reporting

**Salary**: $60,000.00-$70,000.00 per year
