We are looking for a highly motivated and knowledgeable **Claims Specialist** who will be responsible for handling freight and equipment claims and ensure prompt and thorough resolutions.

**Responsibilities**:

- Responsible for investigating and resolving customers’ freight issues, which may include claims for damaged or lost freight.
- Gather information, conduct interviews and statements, review and analyze reports and related bills.
- Request documentation and information needed from carriers to resolve claims or letters of denial.
- Track communications and follow-up with transportation providers during the claims process.
- Complete freight claim paperwork with transportation provider—both paper or electronic.
- Process checks and ensure all parties are paid in a timely manner when a claim is resolved,
- Identify and communicate reoccurring operations errors to management.
- Educate and update the drives of claims procedures to minimize claim complaints.
- Negotiate settlements with carriers on behalf of the client by mutual communication and agreement.
- Produce claims reports as requested.
- Assist department and front office with miscellaneous duties.

**Requirements**:

- Minimum one year of freight claims experience
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Solid interpersonal and customer service skills
- Effective conflict resolution and negotiating skills.
- High level of computer proficiency
- Excellent administrative and time management skills
- Ability to multitask in a fast paced, performance driven environment.
- Strong attention to detail and superior organizational skills
- Demonstrate a positive attitude and desire to succeed.
- Strong team player
