Grading Station Supervisor

The Grading Station Supervisor is responsible for the supervision, coordination and effective scheduling of production employees within the Egg Grading Station. The individual will ensure customer orders are completed for delivery and quality standards and accuracy are maintained. Responsibilities will include the training of staff in production methods, safety, policies and procedures, as well as the identification and correction of potential work problems and health and safety issues. Through the effective management of targets, goals and production efficiencies, the Grading Station Supervisor will ensure the ongoing success of the egg grading station.

**Schedule**

This is a full-time salaried position working on average 40 hours a week. Weekend and holiday work _may_ be required based on operational requirements.

**Major Duties**
- Supervise, coordinate the activities of egg grading station employees
- Identify health and safety hazards
- Resolve work problems and recommend measures to improve productivity and product quality
- Train new employees in job duties, safety procedures and company policy
- Discuss with management or subordinates to resolve employee problems or complaints
- Directly supports the Egg Division Manager
- Enforce safety and sanitation regulations
- Ensure production requirements are met
- Create a daily production schedule
- Provide motivation for employees, increasing morale
- Increase worker efficiency and production rates
- Monitor the performance of production employees
- Oversee day-to-day operations in production
- Ensure that customer orders are completed efficiently and accurately
- Support all audits when they occur on an annual basis, provide support to SQF
- Maintain a safe, clean and compliant workplace
- Maintain product quality
- Protect the organization’s value by keeping all protected and proprietary information confidential
- Ensure bio-security protocol is adhered too
- Follow all safety processes and procedures
- All other duties as assigned

**Position Requirements**
- Post-secondary diploma or degree in Business, Agriculture, Biology or other life sciences would be an asset
- Minimum of 3 years' supervisory experience with demonstrated motivating, training, appraising and general supervisory skills
- Production experience preferred
- Ability to stay informed and up to date with changes in technology, code and workplace compliance
- Excellent organizational skills and the ability to create logically ordered objectives
- Excellent manual dexterity
- Strong leadership skills and the ability to effectively manage employees
- Working knowledge of Microsoft Office software, including Excel, and Word

**Working Conditions**

The position operates indoors in a production environment that is physically demanding, fast paced with repetitive work that requires standing for long periods of time. The work environment may be cooler in certain sections of the facility, with staff working in refrigerated areas. Proper safety footwear is required and supplied with additional PPE available upon request.
