**Job Description**:
What you'll be doing

You’ll be joining CIBC’s DFS Simplii team. You’ll be hands on with all aspects of the systems testing process and provide suggestions that will ensure client needs are met with the highest quality. You’ll be responsible for developing project test strategies and plans and overseeing testing activities for projects and initiatives in compliance with established controls and standards. The role works on complex issues involving one or more technical areas, mentoring employees and performing tasks of advanced technical depth and breadth. The Consultant, IT Quality Assurance troubleshoots issues for all levels, identifying project testing approaches and methods for incorporation into the testing plan, and execution to assign test work packages and lead testing teams. The role exercises independent judgement and decision-making within the ownership of projects and milestones, analyzing and resolving unusual testing challenges to facilitate decision-making with clients and senior management. The role devises new methods and procedures using strong analytic and inductive thinking.

How you'll succeed- Testing expertise - Lead the investigation and translation of business requirements into test cases. Design and manage end-to-end testing activities for various projects across the business. Use your expertise in software development testing to provide clients with quality products that meet business and system requirements.- Leadership skills - Provide advice to your team, including ongoing feedback, support, and mentorship. Proactively identify any potential issues throughout all test phases, and suggest possible improvements or enhancements.- Project coordination - Identify obstacles or risks that may impact a project’s timeline or success and provide regular status updates to the business. Keep the lines of communication open with stakeholders, and escalate issues when necessary. Ensure that all test deliverables are received, approved, and aligned to your project’s timeline, budget and goals.

- Proficient in designing test strategies, test plans, test cases, test execution and coordinating work efforts on multiple projects.- Proficient in project management including risk management techniques.- Experience with leading standard quality assurance processes and methodologies.- Experience in APIs testing, functional integration testing and automation testing.- Experience in Agile methodologies and best practices.- Experience in HP ALM, JIRA and Confluence collaboration tools.- Strong analytical skills and ability to think outside the box.- Values matter to you.
